Beaverdale BeaverDash - Raising Research Funds for Families of SMA

AWARDS/AGE DIVISIONS:
Male & Female for 5K and 1-Mile Runs only;
10 and under / 11-14 / 15-19 / 20-29 / 30-39 / 40-49 / 50-59 / 60 and over.

REFRESHMENTS:
Yogurt, juice, fruit, cookies and more for entrants after the race.

THE COURSE:
Flat loop on cement and asphalt surfaces for both
races. Splits at each mile. Traffic control provided by Des Moines Police Department, with lead and trail bikers. First Aid donated by Tim Neil and staff.

PRIZES/RESULTS:
Awards go to 1st and 2nd place male and female 5K runners and 1st place male and female 1-mile runners. Medals to the top 3 male and female 5K runners in each age division. Medals also to the top male and female

1-mile runners in each age division. Winners will be posted at the Information Booth at the Fall Festival Saturday afternoon. Results can also be viewed on this web site.

	WHO: Anyone who enjoys running, walking or wheelchair racing. No rollerblades or bikes. Children 8 yrs. and under can participate in the Beaver Trot (1/20 mile). Ribbons and T-shirts to all Trotters! WHEN: Saturday, September 20th, 2008 5K & 1 Mile Frolic begins at 8 a.m. Beaver Trot begins at 9 a.m. WHERE: The run starts and ends west of Urbandale Avenue and Beaver Avenue in Des Moines. The route winds through scenic Beaverdale. Walkers will line up behind runners. Beaver Trotters line up at 44th and Urbandale Ave. at 9 a.m. WHY: To benefit Families of SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) and celebrate the 2008 Beaverdale Fall Festival, Inc. All proceeds go to Families of SMA Iowa Chapter to support SMA research. REGISTRATION: 1. By mail (Entry Form) or... 2.
